I dont know if you all have ever read my posts here or not, but usually they are grim when I go out in my tracker...... but not tonight. There are a lot of pics, but im proud. By the way all fish were releaed (not that all of me wanted to)
I went out around 3PM, went back toward WT and fished behind a marina in about 3 ft water (water about 60 deg). Fish were EVERYWHERE busting topwater (these are the same fish that RRigsby and I caught 3 of our keepers for the CFF toun). But just like everyone else on the forum I couldnt get but one slick to hit. I threw a 3/8 white/black SB, a 1/4 nad 1/2 oz rat trap, and the slick hit the fluke, no wind ALL DAY, but overcast at times. I should have thrown top water but didnt. Finally went outside the marina to a point and caught a 3#er on the 3/8 oz white black booya SB.
Went and picked RRigsby up in CFSP. We went out to some old holes: basically the bite was on coves in about 7 ft water with a bit of artificial light and structure. The first fish that I hung was the best. I let out a huge rebe yell, it came on a black and purple single blade thumping spinner bait. We dont have a scale so im saying that it is over 7#. It measured about 24" maybe more. I contemplated keeping it, had I been by myself it would had been a no brainer, but we got good pictures. Amazingly the 4 looks like the 7# on camera. But look at the head and look at the tail
On the same dock I casted 3 more times and caught the 4 pounder! At this point im just thinking God that Ryan is with me to see this. By the way, BOTH of these fish have 10" lampreys on them. This fish was about 20". Two casts later, AND ON THE SAME DOCK I hooked the 3 pounder! All fish are below.
Im just glad im getting used to the chick.
