I dont know if you all have ever read my posts here or not, but usually they are grim when I go out in my tracker...... but not tonight. There are a lot of pics, but im proud. By the way all fish were releaed (not that all of me wanted to)

I went out around 3PM, went back toward WT and fished behind a marina in about 3 ft water (water about 60 deg). Fish were EVERYWHERE busting topwater (these are the same fish that RRigsby and I caught 3 of our keepers for the CFF toun). But just like everyone else on the forum I couldnt get but one slick to hit. I threw a 3/8 white/black SB, a 1/4 nad 1/2 oz rat trap, and the slick hit the fluke, no wind ALL DAY, but overcast at times. I should have thrown top water but didnt. Finally went outside the marina to a point and caught a 3#er on the 3/8 oz white black booya SB.

Went and picked RRigsby up in CFSP. We went out to some old holes: basically the bite was on coves in about 7 ft water with a bit of artificial light and structure. The first fish that I hung was the best. I let out a huge rebe yell, it came on a black and purple single blade thumping spinner bait. We dont have a scale so im saying that it is over 7#. It measured about 24" maybe more. I contemplated keeping it, had I been by myself it would had been a no brainer, but we got good pictures. Amazingly the 4 looks like the 7# on camera. But look at the head and look at the tail

On the same dock I casted 3 more times and caught the 4 pounder! At this point im just thinking God that Ryan is with me to see this. By the way, BOTH of these fish have 10" lampreys on them. This fish was about 20". Two casts later, AND ON THE SAME DOCK I hooked the 3 pounder! All fish are below.

Im just glad im getting used to the chick.

Fantastic Hooker!!! Congrats on the great catch and the pics are great too! I wish I could go some but work still prevails. emoRolleyes Thanks for the report and keep them coming. The ones of us at work are enjoying the read and the pics.. Good job to you and the partner.. You may have to pay a premium for the pic service....emoLaugh

Yes. 90% of the bite is about 1/2-1 hour after dark lasting for about 2 hours then it shuts down again. Exact same pattern as the other night. I think the artificial light has a lot to do with it. I could still hear some shad activity back in the pocket.

Great job hooker! It sounds like there must have been a school of good fish hanging under that dock. What does lamprey taste like? They sure are gross creatures! I haven't caught a fish with one of them but I think once in Chickamauga. I love those throbbing spinnerbaits, looks like you do too. Jmax, remember this post and the fish we are talking about. emoAngel emoAngel

Hook, I was thrill to be there with you last night. I also enjoyed watching you reel those hogs in eventhough you forgot to share with me, lol. You did good, brother.! It was funning, Drew hooked in to that big fish and said, "oh it's a big one!! Help me, Ryan, help me!" hahaha! The hooks stayed in and we got it in the boat. Nothin' to it. Only help he needed was someone to lip it for him, which I gladly did. Hooker is starting to get HOOKED!!!

PS: Can I have my spinnerbait back now? Am I emoWorthy

Good report hooker. Reckon your fishing partner would have laughed a little if that critter would have slipped out of the pliers?emoLaugh

That smile says it all. One missing pic though - Where is the pic showing your face after tasting the eel?

That was for sure a great fishing trip. CongratsemoBeer
