I need a couple lessons Catching big cats that is. I have a freezer full of skipjack but have never fished using them. I figured if someone had a backseat open this weekend I could bring a cooler of skipjacks. I have a possible offer for Sunday but won't know for sure until later in the week. I am 4 hours from Chattanooga so no worries about finding me in your holes. I just need to see how its done first hand so I can get started over here.

Thanks, Ron

Come on cat guys, I know you all could use someone else's skippies for some cats. The only time I catch a cat is when they bite a spoon. Also one time on a plastic worm.

I'm the same way...Ram Jack and I were fishing the Riverpark one day. He was sleeping in the back of course. I was dropping spoons around barges and something HIT and the drag was burnin. Thought I had a world record smalllie until the line started spinning and sliming up... emoLaugh

Eric, thank you, thank you, thank you, for not sending him out with Spur, there is no telling what might happen to the poor guy. show him the ropes like you did me and you will have another friend for life, I hear he can also take great pics of fish and not people in hospital beds.emoLaugh </p>

Yes EricM has offered to take me out and I can't wait. I ask for a lesson and get to learn from the Top dog himself. I can only hope to one day catch fish like you or SpurHunter. But I will pass what I learn on that is a promise.

8up,
If EricM says anything about a municipal swimming pool, just get out of the boat. Make sure to bring and WEAR a good life jacket. Have fun and good luck........

All joking aside, you will be learning from one of the best.

Like the rest of you most cats I have caught has been on bass gear although I have spent a few nights using stink bait. This year my goal is to catch at least one 30 pound cat.

Thank you again Eric

stay away from the large concrete structures that run completely acroos the river, a couple of guys on here seem to have issues with these structures....

Hey if it takes getting tossed from the boat I'm ok with that as long as I don't die it will be worth it. It also wouldn't be the first time I went overboard. About 5 years ago I set the hook on a bass and the seat broke off the pedestal and I went over backwards and cleared the boat completely. I got back to the top of the water yelling take the pole hoping the fish was still there but my pardner just stood there saying are you ok. Funniest moment I ever had on the water.

Sounds like peas in a pod to me, emoGrouphug . I think eric has a story that is somewhat similar.... if I'm not mistaken he landed flat on his back in the floor of the boat, but he's no stranger to water either... Iv'e seen it first hand emoLaugh
