I need help FAST please please - Minn Kota PD V2 Trolling Motor won't stay down

When I deploy the Trolling motor it's not locking in. Has anyone had this problem before? Today was the first day I've ever had it in the water, it's fresh off the show room floor and already having issues, I'm so pissed! Anyway, the Boat place I bought it from is 2 hours away and I don't want to take it back if I don't have to.

I'm just praying it's just some little adjustment I need to do to fix this.

Check that the shaft is clearing the bow of the boat when lowered. May be mounted too close to the edge.

Fixed... It was mounted wrong, the Trolling Motor portion wasn't mounted far enough forward of the Poly plastic piece underneath. So I took it all apart, used a saws-all and cut about 1/4" off the end of the Poly Plastic.
