hey everyone i am a new member. i have a question about a depth finder. i recently invested in an Eagle 168. i have a aluminum Jon boat. i was wondering if it was possible for the puck/transducer to read though the metal or do i need to mount it on the outside of my boat?. if so where is a good place to mount one?

wont read thru metal, will thru fiberglass, but only in epoxy or a small container filled with water, with bottom cut out and epoxied to bottom, If you have a bow mount trolling motor thats the easiest place to mount it, other that that mounted to transom... follow manuctures directions on placement and installation. Just make sure you get below waterline silicone to silicone the screw holes
