When you want a better hook set on the bass when using bass jigs, most people will cut the thing off the jig that makes the jig weedless...(Not sure what it is called emoScratch ) Well I think I created a solution so you won't get hung much and will increase your hook set.

First you cut the "thing that makes the jig weedless" off, then tear a peice off an old plastic worm or just any plastic worm, and put that peice on the hook of the jig and that should keep it from snagging on trees or whatever is down there!

Here is a picture that is blurry but can demonstrate what I am trying to explain... Good luck to all that use jigs!

Not a bad idea Kevin... I tell you what though... Buy Dixie Jig Works jigs and you won't have to worry about the weed guard.  Rob puts those fat ole mustads on there, and there is no weed guard that can get in the way of a solid hookset and that cold hard steel.
