One issue I have with these all night CBAs that last for 12 hours are the numbers of dead fish and the stress on the bass. I had seen a discussion on here about using Hydrogen Peroxide in the live well will give the bass an oxygen boost to last a while in a live well. My live well has a divider with a pump on each side. I took out the divider and used it as one. I brought a lot of ice bottles and jugs. Before starting I filled my well, took two ice jugs and put in it to get the water cooled down well to start with. Then I took Release Me and put into the water. At that point I put eight ounces of Hydrogen Peroxide and put it into the well. One ounce for every three gallons of water. My six pounder I caught at around 9:00 p.m., with the new rule of being allowed only one dead bass at the weigh in I was really worried about it dying being in the well for eleven hours.
It is a job doing what I did. You have to keep adding ice bottles to maintain the water cool. I would about every two to three hours add fresh water, then another ounce of hydro, more ice and a touch of release me. After adding the eight pounder, a 4/6, plus the 6/13 I was really watching for any sign of trouble. Two more bass right at 4 each and never saw one issue with water. The only issue I did have was four of my five had to be clipped. Two of them I had to use two clips in order to right them.
I was very pleased with what the end results was. My fish seemed to be extremely lively. They kept jumping out of my weigh bag. The guys at the weigh in had issues getting a hold of them. emoThumbsup I think this will become a normal practice for me. Here is a link to doing what I did. Jmax
