Yes , thank them because my wife and I just lost our health care ins. This morning , my wife's company decided to drop the health ins. as one of their benefits. Alright, free Obama care, what a crock of BS. Now we have to go with Cobra which will cost another $ 500.00 on top of what she was paying..........good job, more money out of pocket. emoAngry

Sorry , I just had to rant, I'm pissed... emoAngry emoAngry

yea sorry to hear that, ins is a must these days..me being in the logging business health insurance is not even offered to me because logging seems to be rated in the 3 most dangerous occupations. in GA the state appointed a insurance company to cover us but it was 2000 a month so we are still at a loss..and me being in the hospital 3 weeks ago was a nightmare knowing that the hospital bill would drain us. we need health care but i think its going to have to be affordable for all of us and not be a burden..

I tried to tell folks 2 and 3 years ago that this was coming. People listened to promises for change that had no way of working as promised. A promise for a free anything just does not happen in the real world. Just like the free vacation trip. What is so strange to me isthat some of the folks that I argued with would never befoolish enough to fall for a free lunch or something on the low end. This one person would not take a free telephone because he knew that there were strings attached. However they fell for the master hoax. Free health care. Nothing is for free, somebody has to pay. The history of this country has not changed in thatthere are "Takers on both ends of the income range and the givers have always been the middle. "Change" will never change that fact. The very person that will not take the telephone works for a very large Insurance company. Prior to the health care bill he was all for it. Hequoted figures to me about the high cost due to the uninsured in emergency rooms and so much more that my ears started to bleed. You should hear him now. The insiders in the Insurance companies are seeing what is coming and sharing the future with staff.( I am assuming that because of comments from my friend) Nowmy friend haschanged his tune and is worried about his future in the health insurance field.

I could see two years ago that disaster would have to happen in order to wake this nation up from their fantasy world. I told my Demo friends that the worst thing that could happen was forMcCain towin the election. If he did get elected the Demo's would fight him tooth and nail and create such a mess of things the voters in this country would be even more confused and mislead. If you will recall, they were saying "Four more years of Bush" while referring to McCain. I knew that either Hillery or Obama would have to be elected plus we had to have the dominance of the Democrats in the Legislative branch. It would have to run it's coarse and let them screw up the country in order to wake the voters. I never could have imagined that they could do a screw-up to this scale.

I am optimistic, I see every day how this country is being fed up with the powers that be.It has been going on for a while now and I just hope that this coming November is not too late. I am Sooo looking forward to see the outcome of the November elections. I think we saw a preview of what is coming by the election in Mass. to fill Ted Kennedy's seat. The most democrat state in the union that had been that way for forty years voted in a full blooded Republican to fill a Kennedy's seat. I bet ole Ted rolled over.

Sorry to hear that, it's just not fair not to offer insurance because you're in the logging business. Our insurance went up from $ 950.00 a month to $1200.00 and the company decided to drop it all. Come Sept, we are both out of ins., well we will do just like the poor folks do. We just won't go to the doctor unless we really have too and in an emergency, we'll go to the emergency room and pay the bill on a monthy payment until we die, I guess. Company is also reducing the Holiday paid and vacation time, too. We are going backwards, not forward in time but I guess it's meant to be.... emoScratch

Terrible-terrible
I hate to say it, but: there is more of the same coming down the road.
Once upon a time people would say, "at least I have my health, now it's health care, or at least I still have a job, now they say, at least I'm alive."
Some are loosing all of the above.
Stay healthy, worry will make you sick.
Good Luck Triton, and I mean it.

Sorry about your bad luck, but I fail to understand why your loss of insurance has anything to do with recent Health Bill. Besides you still have coverage on Cobra. It is my limited understand that the new provisions don't kick in until your current coverage (Cobra) expires.

It has everything to do with this new Health care bill. Most Ins. companies are raising their rates because of this bill, because they all know that they are going to have to lower their premiums come Jan, when the Bill takes effect. So they raise it $ 500.00 today and lower it $ 200.00 then, when in fact they raised it $ 300.00. By the way Cobra is too damn expensive. Around $ 1300.00 a month for my wife and I.

Your wife' s employer dropped the insurance, not the health care bill. Cobra payment is what your wife's employer use to pay, plus your old share. Either pay the actual cost or have your wife find another job with company that pays for insurance.

SpurHunter - 8/5/2010 1:42 PM Well there you go.....just find another job! Great advice right there.... ;) emoBang emoBang emoBang emoBang emoBang

Blunt yes, however the reality of the situation is the employer dropped coverage (be for economic or other reasons). Either TritonAl can man up and pay for private coverage (which he is doing now through Cobra), find a job that pays health benefits, or accept the "free" Obamacare that he opposes.

How many times have I heard "Free Obama Care" If you work at any level, you will pay for it. It is only Free to the people who refuse to work. In the planning stages of the plan, I do not recall the plan being called Free health care, I heard Affordable Health Care. Would love to clear that up.

LL sorry for the bad news. I believe in 2010 that waht your employer pays in premiums for you will be added to your taxable income which in allot of cases could bump you up to a different tax bracket. It is getting paid for by the working man, just like when you go through the checkout line at your local store and the person in front of you has a 2 buggys full of food one for real food and the other for alchohol and they pay with their EBT card for the real food and the other they pay for with their own money. They walk out and mind you they are in the latest fashions and have purses my wife envies and gets in a 80000 bmw. Saw it the other day and guess what I walked out hoping that I didn't spend too much on the neccesties so that we could pay the other bills. Sorry liveliner but your previous post got me on my high horses.

No apology necessary to me. Welcome to the USA Real world Show. Grin and Bare it.

FREE!! When have you ever seen anything FREE!! from the government..SOMEBODY HAS TO PAY!!!!! FOR FREE!!
GOVERNMENT STUFF...the light is on, anybody home??
71% IN MO. voted to opt out of Obama Health Care.in yesterdays vote..Does that tell you something Democrats????

I have a feeling that more and more companies will be dropping their insurance coverage for their employees and just take the penalty. The whole idea of insuring an additional 30 million people with Obamacare is going to explode into more than twice that. Doctors in Texas are already going to stop serving people on Medicaid because the govt' has lowered the amount they get paid...so their emergency rooms will be even more crowded than they are now.

The whole thing is going to be one huge cluster****.
