Ice fishing trip

Anyone ever taken an ice fishing trip? For the last couple of years I've felt like it would be a blast and have looked into it, anybody have any experience?

When do you think of going ? Where ? Minnesota, Maine, Ontario ? Moved back to Tenn.from Adirondacks. Dad took me , and we were in the open. Can you say cold. It was twenty five years before I went again. Took my brother many years later. They rode to the shanty on the snowmobile, and fished from inside in heated comfort all day. Caught a bucket load. Does help with cabin fever.

I don't have any specific preferences or anything, the idea just seems fun to me. Of course I'm talking about somewhere that has the little fish houses you camp in, and just for a couple days.
