Say you want the Republicans to take back Congress in the fall? This Clown /Servant to the Big Oil business will be the CHAIRMAN of the Energy and Environment Committee. Rep. Joe Barton.... Watch as he kisses some BP A$$ on national television, after they have caused the the biggest Oil spill in US. history. Yea! we will get back to "Business as Usual" all right.

This guy is obviously a moron and will be shuffled out at the first opportunity. However I believe he was apologizing for the way our moron president treated him.

Do you mean the way our moron President pressured BP to set aside 20 Billlion to help the citizens of the Gulf area?. At the meeting, Obama should have served the BP Exec a seafood lunch complete with oil tainted crab cakes, fried shrimp and oysters on the half shell. The scary thing is: Rep Barton won't be voted out of office, and if the Repubs take back Congress he WILL be the Chairman of the Environmental and Energy Committee. Like I've said on this forum many times.... be careful what you ask for.... you just might get it. Rep Barton just publicly said what Republicans truly believe.

Guys, you have to let your voice be heard. VOTE 'EM OUT. Dems /Pubs.
Look for people that go by the Constitution, Declaration of Independence & Bill of Rights.
You can't look at one person and say that's the way they all feel, that's stupid. Harry Reid, Barney Franks, Nanna Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Ted Kennedy, Gore and the list goes on.
THe fact IS: The Dems have controlled Congres way too long and so have the same ol same ol Republicans.THe people in office have gotten us into the mess we are in.
How can you let 545 people control you and your family, or the entire population on the USA? You keep voting them in according to what they promise to give you!!! ie; food stamps and welfare for life? higher wages, cause if you don't some Boss will call a strike, (greed), more governemnt regulations and more government employees.
Think NOT
How about FREEDOM. Want more, or how about getting back what we had before the LBJ Great Society, which started all the government programs and they have failed misserably...billions of $$ have been thrown at these programs, and they DO NOT work..Government programs make YOU dependent on the Government.
Obama wants to the internet, that Al Gore invented. He wants to be Boy King.
20 billion will be a drop in the bucket, compared to what the actual cost will be. We have put a hole in Mother Earth and She is bleeding to death.

It was a shakedown plain and simple. BP, SHOULD have set it up on their own, but you think its right that in the middle of a criminal investigation, to force them to set this fund up was right? This fund will be a disaster, mark my words here. The complaints will be coming in by the thousands of miss-use of funds, abuse, neglect, denial of legitimate claims. Then BP will get a pass, as it will all be blamed on the third party for treating the affected residents so poorly. STUPID< STUPID< STUPID idea. I guess the Good-ol-boy network that Obama has with Big oil is paying off nicley for all parties involoved. :(

I agree 100% Spur. Obama election campain recieved $1 million from BP...for a fact.!
Course, the money NOT spent, goes into his War Chest for future use, as he sees fit.

When they do maybe they can shorten ole CHEIF PROCTO SOME

That's a Texas Republican with his head up BP's butt. First you rip the President for his mis-management and "dropping the ball", but when he secures 20 billion to help those effected by this "Business Decision" you call it a Stupid x3 idea. And I'm the one who's too loyal?

The executive branch has no business "forcing" anything like this fund - if that's what it did. This is the SOLE purvey of the judicial branch of our government. That's what this Representative was objecting to and apologizing for. Granted, he's a political idiot for going about it the way he did, but this administration has overstepped its bounds again.

We will being doing a hell of a lot better then we are doing now. Congress has spent all our money and the money we don't have, and they want us to live within our means. Well it has to start up in the Government first. Liberals agenda " Do as I say , not as I do. I will spend all your money , but I will keep mine...... Now they want to spend even more. What a crock!

At least one Eric is smart enough to convey my thoughts for me. :D</p>

We'd better fire all of the big spenders regardless of their party. Replace them with bonafide and certified Tea Party backed candidates. Only these people will have the guts to stand up to congressional leadership and vote the constitution and block the insane spending and borrowing.

Folks, there's approximately 130 trillion dollars in unfunded expenses in our future. Do you realize if we sold everything in the country, it would bring approximately 50 - 70 trillion dollars. What kind of insanity is this? Is anyone on this forum stupid enough to believe/think/hope this is sustainable?

The ONLY thing that will work is to vote all the big spenders out of office regardless of their party. Sometimes I think conservatives have the guts to do it, but I never even dream that a wild eyed liberal/progressive has enough business acumen to understand what has to be done. Then, there's the group trying to crash the whole thing so the constitution can be eliminated and replaced with a socialist/communist dictator.

Any of you have the guts to vote the bastards out of office?

Bp was not "forced" to do anything here. BP (a foreign company) could have said "NO" and "See us in Court". 20 Billion is barely a drop in the bucket compared to the profits of this company. The President negotiated on behalf of the little guy here, he convinced BP to delay paying dividends, and set aside money now so this clean-up does not have to paid for by you and me. Those who have had their way of life taken from them can see some relief now, instead of trying to sue BP on the back end and waiting decades to see any funds after the attorneys get their cut. The fishermen effected by the Exxon Valdez spill waited more than 20 years for payments. The President has demonstrated great restraint here. He has the Constitutional authority to fire BP and take over in the GULF. http://www.therightscoop.com/lamar-alexander-for-govt-takeover-of-bp

The President CANNOT make laws! Read the Constituion!
Obama loaned Brazil $20 BILLION to drill DEEP wells in the Atlantic Ocean, deeper by far than BP's well. George Soros invested $900 MILLION into Brazils oil comapny(State owned) 1 week before Obama loaned the $$. Geiorge Soros is making millions of $$ off this deal. Do you know who George Soros is??? He has founded several
"progressive" orginizations which are controled by Obama opintees, ie; the one who worked for Clinton and now helped Obama elect his CABINET.Soros says he spends about $150 million on these" progressive" groups EACH YEAR.
One of Bp's spoke persons has a brother that is an oil lobbiest in Wash. DC.
Can you not see the how to connect the dots??? Follow the $$$$$
George Soros put Obama into office.
Fannie-Freddie & Barney Frank want more $$$ bringing their total to $396 BILLION..It's broke,,,so are we.

This is almost funny right here. Since the US only has control of 12 miles of ocean out past the shore how exactly has olbummer got the constitutional authority to to anything past this boundary?
Keep drinking the Kool-Ade Danny.

Wrong! Yet once again! State waters are 0 to 9 nautical miles off the coast. Federal waters are 10 to 200 nautical miles offshore. How did they get the Permits to drill there anyway?? hmmmm Ask your boy Lamar..... He was the one calling for it. Here's a better link..... Wonder why "The Right Scoop" pulled the clip?

Way I see it..this BP's fault plain and simple!!! Even if it was sabatoge(spelling??)BP is still at fault for letting it happen. It IS BP's responsibility to pay for this screw up....But you just wait and see if its not you and me who end up paying for it!! I hope the President does everything( thats LEGAL and WITHIN HIS POWER)to make BP pay for their screw up. I really do NOT support most things this President has done so far...but I hope he just impresses the hell outta me on this one!!!

Out of all the countries that offered help to the US , pertaining to the oil spill, without asking for money was Mexico.Mexico said they would help for free...
Can you say 1600 miles of Gulf Coast shoreline?
