If you didn't go fishing because of the wind and cold today (3/4/07), you were smart. emoGeezer As has been said many times before, what a difference a day makes. The crappie we caught yesterday shut down on us today. We fought wind and freezing temps for five hours. Caught five keeper crappie... had enough big yellow bass and a kicker catfish to make a good mess of fish. We "earned" 'em however!

haha .. I was expecting to see

If you didn't go ...

BE THANKFUL!

Wish I would have been smart and slept in instead of spending 5 hours out there!

Glad you found SOMETHING. I couldn't catch anything but a chill!

Richard, I got out about 10:30 and fished some, ran my boat a lot after some minor maintenence. It ran great. Just wish that the fishing had been as good as my boat. I only managed 1 bass, no crappie. Wind changing directions every 10 minutes, clear, sunshine, and cold. I didn't expect to do any good after the front went through, but I thought that I would at least get one or two bites.

I ran back into Wolftever to see if I could see that eagle that Polo has been talking about. He must have been over to HBSP after reading TT's post. I found the water to be sandy brown color from the rain and wind swirling around every corner. Didn't fish 3 minutes in there.

I spotted fish suspended around 10' deep in the middle of creek channels, but I couldn't get them to bite no matter what I offered. Oh well, tomorrow's another day. emoGeezer

Too Tall and I put in at wolftever at 8 am and ran over to the bluffs. saw some commercial fisherman bulldozing the place so we ran up to sequoyah. on the ride back it was horrendous!!!!! Too Tall said it was the roughest water he had ever seen on the lake. While coming across harrison bay at about 30 mph and getting beat to death some guys came by us at about 60 and they looked like they were riding a bull. and we caught nothing..

bye

I ran up to Sequoia area around 11:30, stayed about 30 minutes and ran back and I didn't think that the wind was doing much during that time frame. It was the only time of the day that the wind seemed to lay a little bit. I had a comfortable ride. Didn't catch any fish, but I had a good ride. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

nwgabassmaster and i went to rocky mtn this morn. at 7, had 3 shorties, all LM. It wasnt worth it, I look like i've been in a sunbed for about an hour. lol ... we just pick crappy days to go i guess. emoBang

Fished a cove in Harrison Bay from the bank for a couple of hours. 5 Crappie, 2 channel cats, 2 yellow perch and about 20 huge skipjack. I haven't wet a line in months, so it putting up with the wind was worth it!!!

Doesn't sound like you guys did all that bad really considering the weather change. Heck I've fished when the guides in my rod had so much ice in them I couldn't reel and STILL didn't catch anything. At least you guys were out there and managed a few.

Fished the hiwassee and the chick, no luck either place but was really glad to get out of the house and wet a line.
