I am pretty excited about my first real trip to Chickamauga since the late 80"s ( I came down two year ago and got rained out so that doesn't count ) and so I intend to fish Sunday thru Tuesday an am excited just to get a couple days off work. I have read the reports and I will bring my pc and file reports while I am there. My question is ...if you were gonna throw plastics would you fish a shakey head and a craw on drops or throw like a neko rig shallow? I will be fishing mid lake in a gray Lowes 195 dual console aluminum and would like to meet some of you characters some day. Maybe need to use my free pass and try one of the tournaments which I expect to be a humbling experience..

Thanks fellows, I have tied up a crig...I stlll have one of the old castaway crig rods....and a 1/2 oz football jig . I will probably be fishing solo and covering too little water and just enjoying a couple of days off work. We still have some snow on the ground from last weekend end here

I have read that the tungsten heads have a better and more erratic action and perhaps more sound attraction than lead on jigs and shakey heads as it is a more brittle and less malleable metal..I know they are more expensive to lose...and can't help but remember some advice I was given on Lake Russell when shad raps first came out..and was told" " fish shad raps in the standing timber...the thicker the better"...lol
