I was out on the lake yesterday and turned the boat off. When I tried to crank it up the key just kept on pushing in. I knew right then the switch was gone. Went home took the control panel off and looked at the switch and it just basically came apart. No way for it to go back together. I have a 6 terminal switch that also is a choke. It is in a quick silver control box hooked up to a mercury Black max. The switch is soldered. Switch runs about $30 bucks. I can solder a little bit. My question is, do you think it would be that difficult to install mayself or should I take it to someone to install and check the unit out for me? Let me know what you great people think........emoScratch

Oldman, thank you for your advice. I wonder how wrenchin2 feels about this? I would need a schematic of the switch, but I wonder if anything else may have got messed up. The switch starts the boat, chokes the boat, and the trim now will not go up or down after this problem occured.

Met up with Mr. Perry over the weekend. It took him no time to fix my ignition. He is a very nice guy and a great mechanic. I recommend him to all. I now have a new problem with the boat, but I will start a new post.
