Now Cheez, you know what the response will be to this! But I love it anyway, how can you defend a party who has nothing on their agenda but to screw our great nation!

It's both parties dude. They both SUCK. Want to talk about something unconstitutional, try looking at the Patriot Act. They can put your ass in jail for NO REASON whatsoever, it's a matter of national security, etc..., and don't have to even allow you access to an attorney or the court system. You just stay there until/if they chose to let you out. No trail, no evidence, nothing, just some bureaucrat's word you MIGHT be dangerous. But it must be a good idea, a Republican came up with it.

Who is really supprised by this? By definition, dont you have to belive the Constitution was written by ignorant, right-wing, racist, zealots to be a Democrat? emoScratch

I am not surprised at all. These traitors are getting more and more bold with their contempt for the CONUS every day.

The Constitution gives Congress the power for the common Defence and generalwelfare of the United States. Given the horrendous actions of our enemies on 9-11 I don't see anything wrong with detaining suspected terrorists or any other enemies of our Nation. If they don't want to be detained they can keep their butts where they come from. And no, they shouldn't have color tv, cable, air conditioning, or any other luxury we take for granted. And I have a deaf ear toward all the rest of the world that's crying about the inhumane treatment.I can't seem to totally forget the memory and visionsof9-11 so quickly.

I haven't heard of anyone being locked up forNO reason.

What actions would you take to prevent another attack on our own soil ?

For a politician to state he/she is not worried about the Constitution in any situation is sad. To state it after the passage of such a controversial law is STUPID. Rep or Dem.

Why couldn't he answer how long it took him to read the 8,100 page bill ? Makes you wonder.

You are missing the point. With the Patriot Act the government doesn't have to prove you have done anything to hold you indefinitely. They just have to say you have done something nefarious to hold you; don't have to prove it. Now we all know the government would never mislead or lie to us, remember all of those weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, or any number of other things like illegally sell arms to the Contra's. So you go right ahead and trust the government, me I'll just keep on being wary of our government; just like our forefathers would want me to do.

The Patriot Act is unconstitutional and could lead to the demise of our country. Do you know that Martial Law can be enacted whenever the President choses something is a disaster enough to merit it. They can seize property, posessions and anything else they want.

I should've also stated the worst thing is the no repeal timeline for ML under the Patriot Act.

What bothers me is Repubs scream about intrusion of personal rights with Health Care, but are ok with your personal rights being destroyed by the Patriot Act.

I know, "they can check up on me, I aint got nothing to hide." Sure neither do I, but I still don't want the government to be able to snoop on me LEGALLY!

Anyways, enough of that ;).

I know the patriot act is a bad thing for sure. I never once have defended it. Also I have never heard a Republican say they did not care about the constitution when referring to the patriot act. THE ENTIRE POINT of this thread is to point out the boldness and utter contempt for the constitution by some who have sworn an oath to uphold it.

I wasn't calling you out Cheez I was just making a statement about the PA since it was brought up earlier. I have unfortunately spoken with many who don't care if its a breach on the constitution. Its ashame too.

There is no doubt about the hypocracy of the statement that kicked this thread off.

The Politican in the Video Clip is STUPID, and should be voted out of office. Not because he voted for healthcare reform, but because he allowed himself to be blindsided by one of these guys that thinks the Republican party ownes the Constitution. The health reform bill is most certainly Constitutional as set forth in its Preamble "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution" btw the President of the United States.... the head honcho of Obamacare, is a Constitutional Attorney and Constitutional Law Professor.

Yup and because olbummer is a constitutional attourney he knows all the loopholes and "legal" ways to circumvent the original intent of the founding fathers regarding the document.

Does that mean that the republicans were too dumb to figure out the "legal" ways for un-Patriot Act? (Sarcasm intended)

Was martial law declared first?

Afghanistan and Iraq are both police actions (with a little government toppling), not a war (in a tradtional nation vs nation conflict).

If you guys only knew the revelations some of my 5th graders have when talking about our economy, etc. I'm starting to think 11 year olds should run things as they seem to understand more about spending than some in Congress.

I am not joking either, I have heard amazing comments, making me think there could be a good future if we just teach kids some sensibility.
