Question will this method damage the new airator.
When i first installed a new airator I noticed sometimes instant water in an sometimes not, basicly on & off fresh water filling.
usually several flips of the switch, pump would always run just not always water coming in.

I rewired it an the issue remains. Except

Now i get less than half the volume of water, or gph coming in which really is about what my overflow can handle.
IM wondering if the changing the wires will damage the pump

If your pump is spinning and pumping fine, you may just have something stuck in the pump itself or in the hose. I had that problem. All I had to do was just get a water hose and spray water down the hose that carries the water to your live well.

It sounds like you might have a bad switch that does not make the proper connection every time you flip it on. Make sure you clean the lines from the exterior to your pump and from your pump to the tank. Also check your aerator because some times they will get dirt in them if you have been fishing shallow while running your pump.</font>
