I have a Kawasaki 220 four wheeler I am going to sell and it has been sitting up for a couple years. I thought I would get it serviced before I sell it and took it to White Cycle and Marine over on 58. To have it services, carburetor cleaned, new battery and a once over they said would be over $550.00!!! emoEek Good Lord, I thought it would be about half that. Looks like I am going to have to do some of it myself if I am to sell this for any kind of money over what it will cost me to do that. emoDoh Went and got a new battery at Wally World for half of what they were going to charge. Is that price high or has it just been that long since I had something like this done to a four wheeler? I will still be left with two others I plan to keep. Does anyone know of another place that does this kind of work that would be cheaper? emoScratch Jmax

Take it to a mechanic friend who works at home, easy to do and should cost about half that. Any large shops are going to charge anywhere from 75.00 to 125.00 an hour labor because of overhead.

They came down on the price when I complained. emoAngel Cut the labor by a third and I bought the battery and took it to them. I asked if I needed to put it in? If there was a charge for putting the new one in I would do it. She laughed and said she would do it, no charge. ;) Not as bad now. I just did not want to rack up some big bill just to try and sell it. It is a very nice little four wheeler. It is a 2001 Kawasaki 220 Bayou. I bought it new for my son when he was about 12. He has used it during deer season for the past few years except the last three years. The last three it has been sitting in storage collecting dust. Thought someone could use it. Ryan is now about 6'3" and weighs about 230. It can still handle him with a deer but does look small for him. emoBigsmile I got me a Honda Rancher and will give him my Honda Recon for him to use going forward. emoThumbsup Jmax
