Is it just me or does anyone else hate gift cards to bass pro?! I now have 3 $50 gift cards that have piled up without using and Im getting a headache trying to figure out what to buy. Ive filled the shopping cart and almost went through with the order 3 times but a little voice tells me to wait and spend it on something else. I want a recessed trolling tray and the bass pro one is around $150 so i almost bought that. Convinced myself I dont need it. I filled cart with jigs, worms, worm hooks, etc for all my summer fishing needs. Convinced myself what I have is good enough to catch fish and I dont need more tackle. Haha. Then I filled the cart with UV protection shirts and shorts because I love that stuff and only own a light jacket right now. Convinced myself that sunblock works just fine.
Am I crazy or does this happen to other people too? Haha

You'll use half of the money on shipping. Whenever I get a bass pro card, I sell em. Tacklewarehouse cards are worth much more to me.

I've got a recessed tray I removed from my Ranger that I will give you if it is the size you need. It was too small for my new I-pilot foot control so I took it out and made a cover plate. The tray fit my old Minn Kota Maxxum perfectly. I still have it by the way if anyone wants a good deal on a 36V 101lb used unit. The new control is low profile, so it works quite well mounted on the deck. I can get you some dimensions and pics if you are interested. Just let me know.

Tacklewarehouse is free shipping over 50. They win every time in shipping . But glad to hear Bass pro is at least trying to get better with their shipping . It's always been a mess .

Hey bud the best trays I have found were on ebay and are the NEW TROLL MATE XD. He has one for minn kota and motor guide. They are less than a 100 bucks and they have the drain hole in the rear and come with a cut out template and all hardware. Best tray by far.

no it is not just you alot of people dont like gift cards of any kind it dont bother me i just keep them till i get enough then go to bass pro

It's just you! emoPoke

Really, I'm just as guilty and can't decide what to get either and abandon my cart too. I got to where I hold them until I get a discount notice in the mail, or running a sale, with discounted shipping or wait until Black Friday where it goes much farther.

I have done it many times. Id much rather buy the stuff in person so I can touch and feel the items....makes buying a bunch easier.

Yeah, I got a $25 one for father's day. I got 3 buzzbaits and a cheap fillet knife and the shipping ate up the rest.
It's the thought that counts.

I have had the same problem and last weekend I went to Nashville stopped at the bass pro I had a few gift cards in my pocket and as I could not make up my mind my wife found some clothes that she couldn't live with out I left with nothing but a thinner wallet

Think of the alternatives to BPS or and other sporting goods related gift card . Maybe a new tie ? How about that useless plaid sport shirt ? New grilling accessories, complete with matching apron ? Gift cards for Starbucks ? At least the thought is in the right place. All my family and in laws know BPS or Cabela's cards say I am thinking of you.

Yea the cards came from in laws and parents. Im not really complaining, its a good problem to have, so many choices. I cant wait for the one to open up here. Like spurhunter I like to see and touch it before i buy, that makes it harder to go through with buying some of the stuff.

Heres my story. My son gave me a baitcaster combo for my birthday. I used it 3 or 4 times, and managed to break the end off of it. SO, I thought what the heck...I'll see if ACADEMY will replace it.....if not I'll buy a new rod only. Went to Academy........they said go back there and get another one. They didn't have anymore combos, but had the rods. I ask, can I just replace the rod, and keep my reel. Yep, the lady said. So I took my reel off the broken rod, put it on the new one while standing at the register. Ready to leave she said...wait......heres your instore gift card. ???????? She gave me about $50 on the card. I said...are you sure about this? Yep. I went out, thought about it and thought......that is not right. So...I go back in and went to the mgrs area. This guy said...what can I help you with? I said...I think the cashier lady made a mistake and told him what I did. New rod...old reel. He looked at my reciept and said...NOPE....your good to go. I went. emoBang

I don't give gift cards and I don't like getting gift cards. I've told my family, instead of going out of your way to put money on a gift card, save your self a trip and just put the money in an envelope and give that to me. This way I can spend the money anywhere I choose, it's the gift that counts and hard cash lights up my eyes better that a gift card.
