Is it me or the Senshi?

I bought some Seaguar Senshi last week for a new spinning reel. I normally use Pline or lately saving some money and buying big game which seems to be strong as anything I have ever used.

Anyway... My eyes are not what they used to be so I pretty much stick to a uni knot and all has been working well with that knot. I haven't broke off a fish in forever... But since I put that Senshi on I have had 4 fish break off. Two fish that felt like decent size and two smaller fish that were no more than a couple of lbs...

Anyone have experience with this line? Is it supposed to be good line? It seems more limp than other mono but maybe it is also soft?? I am using a medium action rod and 3 of the 4 broke off on the hook set. I wouldn't think that medium action rod would let me put that much pressure on the line. It is 10lb test... I have 10lb inviz flouro on my other spinning reel and never had a problem... landed a lot of bigger fish on it.

Thoughts?

That line is a little on the thin size for what they advertise. It's the only mono I use and have never had a problem with it. However its a very soft line but I use 15lb on a baitcaster for topwater stuff and I put several 5lb+ in the boat last year on it, even got an 8 in one of the night CFF tournaments last year. I haven't had any issues with the line breaking but I don't throw 10lb line on any rods for Chickamauga. Unless it's topwater or leader for a c-rig I use Fluorocarbon on everything.

Thanks Derek... I think I may spool that line off onto an ultra light I use for pan fishing and go with a little heavier... That 11-4 I landed a few weeks ago was on 12lb Big Game... It is like wire compared to the senshi though.

I know at least one was at the knot. I couldn't tell on the others. Yesterday I tied on a shakey head and caught a couple of small fish then spotted a fish in the 2.5 lb range cruising the shallows... made a cast and when it picked it up I set the hook only to see it pop... That one looked like the knot failed. It has been a very long time since I had that happen.

One item I look at when buying line is diamenter...Big game 10lb is like 12mm when Andes 10lb is 10mm. Big game is stronger due to diamenter...Look at the Seaguar box & it should state Dia. a lot of line I find Dia. is same as lb test.......possible find your answer........ emoGeezer emoUSA

My dad has broke off several times using this line. Most of the time on the boat flip with 15 lb line and smaller fish. One time he did try to boat flip about a 6 1/2 at night and deff broke. Haha
