With my motor blown on my little Bee it was time to speed up the search and sometimes you really luck out. A friend of mine called last weekend and told me about a boat that was owned by an elderly gentleman who recently passed away. It seems that he fished only about 10 times a year and rarely ran more than a few miles to his favorite holes. His widow wanted to sell the boat because they only had a daughter that didn't fish. My buddy's mother was good friends with this lady and asked if he'd like to but it. He'd recently bought one and wasn't interested so he called me. The price was insanely low so I went to look at it Sunday. I fell in love with it immediately. I'm extremely frugal (skinflint), but I couldn't pass it up. I pick it up Saturday. It's a red 98 Ranger R80 with a 98 150 Johnson FastStrike motor. Both in great shape. It has an OMC trolling motor on it but Ranger Rob says the old pros swear by these things. It'll be great to drive a boat that goes faster than 2 mph (trolling). I'll post pictures Saturday.

Good for you buddy. I also have always liked those TMs. Congrats

WOW, sounds like a heck of a deal. And yeah, you just can't beat those trolling motors. They'll take a punishment and just keep on running.
