I think the biggest mistake that democrats in congress have made so far is not even the things that they have proposed; it's the fact that they can't coherently explain or justify any of them in ways that average people can understand and relate to. One example: many have said that the best way to stimulate competition between insurance companies is to allow companies to cross state lines. This makes sense to me. I have not heard anyone argue against this idea in a way that seems logical or comprehensible. Many people have said that Obama is one of the greatest communicators of the modern era. When you take his communications skills and add in the unprecedented amount of airtime he has had since the election, the fact that we still don't truly understand most of this administration's reasons for their actions becomes even more unsettling.
