From our president, Mike Raney on the NBT web site.....

Its official. The 2009 NBT National Championship will be held on Lake Chickamauga in Chattanooga TN. The host hotel will be Chattanooga Choo Choo. The Championship dates are June 20-25, 2010. Start checking out the website for more info.

I want to thank Joy Nolan, Assistant Director of Sales for Chattanooga Choo Choo, and Scott Smith, President of Sports & Events Committee of Greater Chattanooga for all that they had done already in putting this event together. Mrs. Nolan and Mr. Smith have been wonderful in responding to our requests and they seem to be excited to have the opportunity to be a part of NBT's upcoming Championship.

I want to also thank Jake Davis and David Lowrie for being instrumental in putting all this together with the committee of Chattanooga. They both have worked hard and made many contacts. David is on a mission to make the this the best event ever.

I am hoping that all of the anglers and their families from NBT are as excited and that we will do our best to work with the committee officials of Chatanooga in making this the best National Championship yet. From all that I have seen this will be the best family fishing/vacation ever. There will be plenty for all to do. Everything is close and shuttle buses will be available to get everybody in and around town.

Thanks,

Mike Raney

I want to encourage all from CFF that there's still time to qualify for these nationals. I have 3 more regular tournaments this season which is all an adult has to fish to qualify for the district championship. Juniors only have to fish two. If you do that and fish the district championship you are qualified to fish the Nationals.

My remaining tournaments are....
Sept. 19 Nickajack
Oct. 3 Woods Res.
Oct. 17 Chickamauga
Nov. 14-15 Nickajack for the district championship.

Need more info? Call me at 931-235-6216 or email me at [email protected].

Also would like to let all you potential sponsors know that I'm going to be working with my media friends to get plenty of attention for this tournament. I should have no trouble getting this well covered by the TFP, Sport Talk, Channel 9 and Randy Smith's radio show. So I'm hoping that any of you that come here that can sponsor will get on board. One of the biggest sponsor needs is gear to give away to the juniors. We'll have a junior open tournament on the last day of practice that we give away a bunch of gear to the juniors as well as at the banquet at the end. The Choo Choo has given us space for sponsors to set up on the night of registration which is Sunday night after the first day of practice.

Again I'd love to have as many CFFers as possible join in this event by getting qualified this season. Two of my last three tourney's are on the Chattanooga side of the mountain as well as the district championship. No reason why a lot of you can't get in and a great chance for you to get your kids, grandkids, neices, nephews or just neighbor children involved. The more juniors the better in my book.

David.

Also you can qualify by fishing with any district as long as you get in the proper number of tourneys. There is an Alabama North district and a Tennessee Central district that might fit your calendars with some of their events.

I really hope that all of you CFFers that have kids that would be interested get involved. I'm already working on adding $$ to the Juniors' pot with sponsors.

There's nothing like watching the kids win. One in our district got his very first win Saturday at Woods and the look on his face was priceless.

Bumping this up. Want to keep reminding all of you that you can join and qualify for this national tournament. I want to especially anyone if you have kids that could fish it to get involved. SWL Jake and I are set to be on This N That with Don Welch and on Sport Talk both on September 16th. Hope to announce the first couple of major sponsors for this event on those shows.

If you would like any info PLEASE contact me. Easiest way is [email protected] or 931-235-6216.

David.

Jake Davis and I will be on This N That tomorrow with Don Welch and on Sport Talk tomorrow afternoon to talk about the nationals. I hope some of you might call in while we're on Sport Talk.

I'd also like to remind everyone that there is still time to qualify for this national championship on your home lake. We're fishing Nickajack this Saturday and anyone can join at the ramp. Adults must fish 3 one days and the district championship to be eligible for the nationals. Juniors must fish 2 one days and the district championship to be eligible.

David.
