Highland Sportsman Club and the Cherokee Chapter of the NWTF will hold our annual JAKES day program at Highland this Saturday March 8th. This is approximatley the 10th year we have done this program and would like to invite all of the CFF with children upto 17 years old to come. This program is for the kids and introduces them to turkey hunting. They will learn turkey calling, shooting shotguns at turkey targets, tracking, safety, ect. TWRA will be there with their computer generated shooting gallery and archery equipment. The Tennessee Furbearers Association will be there with a display. It is a great day.

For those who do not know, JAKES stands for Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics & Sportsmanship.

Registration starts at 8:30 AM. The day will be over around 2:00. Lunch will be provided. The cost is FREE!!!!!!

If you have any questions, please ask.

Thank you. We need all the help we can get. The weather forecast would sure make it easy for kids to stay at home. We will have lots of things indoors until it starts warming up.

Sure. We have had kids there as young as four and five and we have managed to keep them entertained. I think a six year old will have a good time. They will get to use all of their senses which make it all pretty cool. We have dozens of stuffed animals at Highland that will keep them entertained for a while.
