They say it will, however six inches may be all you transom can handle. Example my 520 vx has a six, but on a z series you can put a ten inch. Check with your local dealer before you buy another jackplate.

Thanks alot, I didnt think about what my transom would withhold and that is very important part of a boat. Adding the extra leverage on the extra setback would make a big differance.

Addict,

Also keep in mind the hieght of your motor on the jackplate. If your motor is too high or too low, the jackplate becomes a waste. You have to find the sweet spot. With my last Ranger, it was 6 back and 6 up. With my new Triton, It is 6 back and 5 up. The difference is telling. I always use the 6 inch up rule as a starting point for my setup. You can always adjust it depending on your performance needs.

Thanks Freebird I have been playing with the settings on my plate and seem to have found the sweet spot. If I go up 1/2 inch it will not lift and if I drop 1/2 inch I loose speed. Water preasure stays around 15 to 18 psi in the sweet spot and if I move up it drops so I think I better leave it there. Also going to try some different props in the near future. I am running a 4 blade Renegade in a 27 pitch and need to loose about 500 to 700 RPMs, Top speed around 65MPH with 2 people. Have to be carefull with my RPMs with this prop, can turn 6200 but dont like it. Cant to afford to blow another engine.

I bought the prop after trying a few that friends loaned me and got an idea what to run. After running the prop that I purchased I needed to loose 800 RPM so I took it back to Performance Prop to have cup put in it, they also told me to drop my motor 1/2 inch to loose RPM. When I dropped the motor I couldnt hardly hold the wheel from the torque to the right and when I trimmed the motor it would stand the boat up so high the boat would start scooting and I couldnt even begain to drive the boat.
