I just bought a boat and seem to have a slight problem with the water intake on my engine being too far out when I plane it up. It is an 20' tunnel hull and runs fine. My question is : How does the jack plate install and how much do they cost and are there different sizes my engine is a 50hp?
Any help is appreciated.

50HP on a 20' Tunnel???? emoScratch

A jack plate allows you to adjust the height of the engine for more performance by allowing you to "fine" tune the set up. Most engines you can fill in a few of the water intake passages with no issues what so ever. I fill them up quite often.

All jackplates have a IBA bolt pattern. This is a standard pattern used on most engines since the late 70's with the excepting of a few engines. There are different setbacks. Hope this helps emoToast
