I'm looking for a manual jackplate to put on my boat. I have a 18 foot Ranger with a 150 horse mercury. I need to know what size and where I might find a used one.
I did gain holeshot with the JackPlate, never did get it adjusted properly for speed but if done properly it should help top end as well with the right prop.
That's a used one for a 100 plus shipping. I found a new one that was close to that price. I think I can find one cheaper than that locally, I'll just look around . Thanks though!!
The cheapest you will find a new one for is about $250. Go to www.pitstopmarine.com and you can get an idea of good jackplates at good prices. I ordered my new 10" rapid jack from them. Its a great plate. Get the biggest plate you are allowed to put on the boat. It will help lift, load carrying, and top end speed. Im not sure about holeshot but it wont hurt it.
