That explains why Tellico was over full last week....back down to normal winter pool this week.
They actually opened the 3 gates at the Tellico Dam to go with the 14 at Loudon...never seen them (Tellico) open before. I actually think they were flushing the silt out of that little bit of river bed. The water coming thru Tellico was clean and green as usual and the river below was like chocolate milk. You could see the mud on that side of the main river 3 miles down in Loudon.
I think we got 12" of rain in January alone. about 7 inches over for the year a few days ago. They `ve been spilling 11-14 gates at Loudon since the first of the year with the exception of about 10 days ago they cut down to 3 for a few days at Loudon. Back up to 11 yesterday.
