Ty joined me for an evening bite chasing blue cats. The flow was around 20,000 which was kinda good considering we've really had no good flow this spring. We drifted a couple familiar spots downstream catching several smaller cats. The biggest we had drifting was 18 lbs. We had one BIG fish on that felt really solid but lost him emoBang Towards the later part of the evening we decided to go below the dam. We anchored, and in a matter of minutes, we landed a nice 28 and 20 lber. It was really fun battling those blues in shallow water. They fight harder and really give you a run. It was fun seeing Ty battle his brute on my 7' medium action ugly stick rod. The flex in that rod was amazing. I love those rods on bigger fish. When I was battling my brute, the flow got stronger to about 45,000. It was great to see more flow; however, it was short lived. We called it quits around 9pm. This trip was one of our best times together. We usually don't fish well together, but it was nice seeing things work out. Ty, thanks for joining me. It was a blast.
