Thought I would just give a little up date to our lake here where I live. The POA dropped the water this winter 5 foot so people could work on their sea walls and boat docks. Boy, life is hard here. I did get my bass boat out of the water so I could use it some when I started having withdrawals from not being able to fish. When the lake gets lowered that much my boat stall is too shallow to drop the boat. I fished Lake DeGray and Lake Hamilton a couple times for some relief. Then the one trip to Chickamauga. emoBigsmile Our lake here, Balboa, is now back up and actually very high. They shut the spill way in April and with all the rains we have been getting it came right back up. emoThumbsup Decided to put the boat back in my boat dock.
To say we are spoiled here is an understatement. Within Hot Springs Village there is 11 lakes and 7 Golf courses. Not to mention all the other stuff like Tennis courts, Pickle Ball, Rec Centers and more. I can walk the bank here at the house just about any morning or evening and catch a few bass. Yea, life is hard. emoEvil The bass have been spawning some and it is looking to be coming to an end here. I have put a couple 4 lbers on the bank off my seawalls recently and thought I would throw a couple of them here on this report. Hard to tell but those two females have bloody tails in those pictures.
One of my neighbors who is from WI asked me to help him and a visiting friend catch some fish by giving them some advise on how. emoRolleyes I did them one better, I just took them. I think it is fair to say they had not experienced good ol' southern boy bass fishing like we did. I put a shakey in their hands and gave them a couple lessons. They caught on pretty fast. Working spawning flat edges in about four to five foot we put 28 bass in the boat that morning. Missed that many more. emoDoh I think some were still spawning and just moving the worm out of their beds. Both guys were named Gary. Gary 1 caught five and Gary 2 caught seven. emoThumbsup Not bad for first timers. I put 16 in the boat teaching them. emoTongue They had a blast and wanted to know if the next time they came down to visit would I do it again. lol Water here is in the 60s, very high and almost flood stage.
Tight lines to all of you, here is also a picture I took of the sunrise over Lake Balboa, yea....life is just hard here. emoGeezer Jmax
