Not a lot to report on this one. Lots of wind, lots of waves, lots of pollen, lots of red eyes and runny noses. Crap made me just about sick. emoVomit
Started on humps and 3rd cast put a 2 and a halfer in the boat. Thought we were going to load the boat. We did, with a whole bunch of short fish. emoMad Spent a good hour there and never boated another keeper. Moved and hooked up with the best fish of the day that looked about 5+, she jumps twice and on the second jump she throws my shakey back at me. emoAngry Try as we did like it sounds with most everyone we kept catching shorts and no keepers. Finally around 11 we move again and James boats our second two and a halfer on a craw worm. Shortly there after I boat another keeper to give us our three. emoThumbsup Not much weight with right at 7 and 3 quarters, but the way our day was going we were just glad to have a three bass limit. About fifteen minutes pass and James hollers for the net, I turn to see a bass I knew would not help us but James is saying, "Its a spot!". I net it and it was smaller then our third keeper but now it was decision time. We have a decent keeper but less then our third bass. With just eight ounces difference I make the call to cull the LM and keep the spot. Told James if we catch a big one the spot was going back. Boat two more that would keep but nothing bigger then the first two we had so the spot stayed.
Ended up the right call. We had 7.18 lbs with those three and with the point for big spot came in right where we would have been in points if we had kept the LM. Got a little money to sweeten that call. emoTongue I am not sure but I think we came in tied for fifth in points with Derek and Chase. Must have boated 25 shorts today, have no idea where all the big ones went today. emoScratch All our bass were either caught on a craw worm or a shakey.
Congrats to all who got paid today and for those who struggled with the wind and waves to stick it out. emoWorthy Jmax
