Still a struggle for me here lately. I often in the Fall transition seem to loose where the fish are and how to put them in the boat. :( This year is turning out to be even worse then others. After the CBA I felt a little better seeing that many of the local ringers were also having their share of empty live wells and small fish. Only one bag over 20 lbs and when 12 something gets paid in a CBA you know its bad.

Went out and hit some places me and Derek had not tried that day. Mainly focused on grass edges. Most productive baits were top waters and a shakey on the edge of the grass mats. Had one hog of a bass explode on my spook about mid morning, crushed it like a cannon ball had hit the water. Line started to sing as she headed for deep water and all I could do was hang on. Got her slowed down and was thinking to myself, finally, a picture worthy bass, about time. Had her coming my way with the rod doubled over and she just came unhooked. emoBang Had a couple more blow ups that looked pretty good but nothing big came into my boat. Best one was a three pounder that took a shakey. Had nineteen bass come into my boat with only four that would keep. Would have liked to of had those four in the CBA. Derek and I stunk that day with only two keepers for five and a half pounds. emoRedface Those four there were around nine to nine and a half pounds.

It will get better with the temps dropping and the water falling. The frog bite is just now starting to happen for me. I found a couple places where even I could hear that snap, crackle and pop of the bream hitting in the grass. Not much action from bass yet but when that starts to happen the bass are not too far behind them. This week if you look at the solar tables it is suppose to be poor all week. emoRolleyes Like we needed it to get worse. emoBooHoo With the kids benefit tournament this weekend I think it will be another tournament of small bass and poor results. I wish them all luck and successful results.

Nothing picture worthy on this trip. See ya out there. emoAngler Jmax

emoSorry Same story up & down the Tennessee River. Some are c aught when u find them.....real estate, location, location. I think the lack of water flow & no rain washing the banks & feeders is causing fish to concentrate where oxygen is generated, even ski boats & river traffic helps aereate. It was tough in Guntersville, those who caught did well, most struggled with the 1s, 2s and a few 3s. Same fishermen were catching, otherwise it was hunt & hope....better time with cooler water............ emoGeezer emoUSA
