Poor start for me this year in the tournaments. :( First CFF James and I could only muster up two small keepers but we had a couple good ones on that would have given us a chance for a check. Then the first CBA Derek and I left at 3:00 smelling a bad odor of skunk in the boat. Then last weeks CBA was not a bust but another "what if" tournament. I caught eight or nine bass that morning within the first couple of hours with only three being keepers. emoScratch Had a 5/8, a 4/3 and a two. With the rest of the day to go we thought there would be no issue getting five keepers in the boat. I lost a small keeper at the boat and Derek hooked and lost another good keeper on a trap. emoDoh That was it! Had to come in with just my morning three for 11.67 lbs only good enough for 40 th place. All on a jerk. Seems we can't get on them like some folks have been doing.

Got out yesterday and repeated the same ol' story of "what if". A little better but no limit. Had three solid keepers in the 2/8 to 3 lbs range. Had one nice one at 6/3. (Below) But could not get the fifth keeper in the boat. Lost another good one right by the boat that appeared to be in the five lb class. emoMad Then hooked another that bull dogged on me well just to come off after about four turns of the reel. Never got to see that one. emoBang Slowly improving with my four going around the 14 lb mark. All on a trap.

Got to keep it all in perspective. We are fortunate to be bless so we can have the kind of fishing we often take for granted right here on the Chick. emoAngel Jmax

We fished from about 10 A.M. to nearly dark yesterday. Threw traps and A Rigs all day. From 25 feet to 6 inches deep. In coves, in channels, on humps, near bluffs, by rocky banks. And didn't catch a blasted thing.

So your day could have been like that. Haha

good that you are able to stick to a pattern and not give up...looks like it is starting to go your way, and that is a real nice fish there too! thanks for sharing
