Today was just one of those days where the weather was great, the conditions were perfect and all things were right with the world. emoAngel Had a better day then I have had for some time. Put the metal to several today and got in four good bass. Again plastics and mainly shakeys were my bread and butter baits. Most were relating some way to spawning flats. Either coming or going to them. Stuck a good one off a staging area and knew she was big, she did not move at first. Then she came up three times and each time I was saying don't come off. ;) Got her in the boat and she went 9/12 on my scales. emoDance Also had a 6/9, 4/7, 4/1 and a bunch of two pounders. My best five would have been pushing 27 and a half pounds. emoThumbsup I can only hope I can do so well this weekend in the CBA. emoScratch Water temp was 63 when I got there and 69 when I left.

I put the 9 pounder in the well and drove around until I found a person to take my picture. Thanks NinjaRescue. He said he was on the forum and that was his handle. emoBigsmile The big girls are up, now is the time to get one. emoToast Jmax

Here are pics of my best four....

Now you have ruined your Saturday! That's a great bag Jim. WTG!

I know! emoDoh I was thinking the same thing. emoBooHoo Jmax

Great job Jim. Our bass fishing was good today also. It was...one of those days. I hope it will carry over for you in the CBA tourney this weekend. Good luck... emoThumbsup.

After a day like that do you still want to move back home ? Going to miss the fishing reports and pics but what I will miss the most are all the hilarious stories you come up with. Hope you keep posting after you move. Thanks for the laughs.

Thanks, I plan to check in every now and then. I may even post a few. emoBigsmile Issue is not many will care about Arkansas bass fishing. The issue I will miss is size. There are just not too many places where you can catch the quality of bass you can and have been able to catch for the past ten years like you can on the Chick. Someone said on another post that lakes go in cycles, I think that is true too. Look at the G right now, the Chick will cycle back around too. Maybe with restocking and management of the lake it will last a long time. emoThumbsup Jmax

Great catch!!! Congrats on an awesome day!!
Based on the reports, the CBA should have a bunch of 20+ bags this Sat.
I envey those people who can fish during the week. Lol!!
Maybe you can post some pics of big smallies when you get to Arkansas.

Not too many Small Mouth in South AR where I am retiring. I will be moving to Hot Springs Village AR. There are several lakes on the property and the biggest is Lake Balboa, 1000 acres lake. I will be purchasing a home on the water with boat dock. The fishing on those lakes are pretty good with the G&F shocking up some 10 lb bass in their creel samples. Just outside the west gate only about 10 miles away you have Lake Ouachita, big lake they have some big tournaments on. Then you have Lake Millwood, Lake DeGray, Lake Greeson, Dierks Lake, Lake Hamilton and the AR River. So you can see there is no shortage of lakes there. emoAngel Jmax
