Not a lot with work going on today so after a couple follow ups I headed for the lake. Lots of folks out but for me is was a grind. Still trying to make my mind up if I am fishing one of the 200 tournaments this weekend. There is a part of me that thinks I just might stay home and avoid the crowds. I boated about 15 bass today but most were short. MY best five would have been in the 17 lb range anchored by I nice one that went 5/9 on my scale. emoThumbsup Issue is I don't think 17 something will be getting a check this weekend. Bass are all over from deep to shallow and all in between. On top of that they were hitting really funny today and I missed a bunch and had others on that I never even felt hit. I could not get them to chase and only managed one on a crank with the rest on plastics. Usually Weds. is a slow day but the wolf and HBSP was pretty backed. Chester was not all that bad with only about 15 trailers. emoConfused Most of the bass I am still catching are relating to the spawning flats and seem to be just waiting for the water to warm and the next full moon. Water temp today was in the upper 50s or the lower 60s depending on the area.

See you out there. emoAngler Jmax

you know you have a great fishery when just a 5 pounder is kinda a blah day.

Actually we are just spoiled. ;) If I had just been fun fishing I would have been happy with that. My goal yesterday was to see how good I might do and from there decide if I wanted to donate $110.00 to the Coke Cola and Wal-Mart Classic this weekend. emoScratch I don't feel 17 lbs would have been anything more then a pat on the back. You will need to break 20 lbs I believe to get a check in that one. That five lber was a very pretty fish, not a mark on it, never appeared to have been caught before and a really dark green fish with great markings. I lost two others and one of those felt to be another big one. They just came off. Can't make my mind up for this weekend. emoRolleyes Jmax

As others have stated, thanks for the details in your reports. It's great to read something other than, "went out today, caught 12 on plastics and went home" lol. I'm going to try be "sick" one day next week and miss work to come up and fish a day since I volunteered to be a boater for the fishing with a soldier tourney on the 23rd. I wanna put my Vet on a couple fish if possible! If I'm able to get out, I'll make a post and let you guys know how I did.
Thanks

My money is on you, go ahead and fish the Coke Tournament. You'll kick some bass!

Thanks for the vote of confidence but with the bunch in that thing it will take some to win or even place. I am going to woos out. I am going to do some things with the better half to win points for later in the year. emoAngel I also want to give Chase and Derek all the room I can for Chase's high school tournament this weekend. You know with me and Derek normally fishing as a team that he and Chase will also be hitting up the same areas. This way I am not in their way either. emoThumbsup Jmax

Thanks for report, bite hasn't seemed to change. Last night was the same, hard time getting a solid bite. Caught plenty of shorts and that was enjoyable, but not any good size.
