Did someone say it was going to be hot! emoCrazy Just standing in the boat I was dripping. Got out a couple hours after work to see if I could find a few. A few is what I found. I hardly got anything to chase with the exception of one lone bass. She hit a crank in 22 foot of water, slammed it. I think I must of just about hit her and she just reacted out of instinct. She was 3/9. I tried shallow but to no avail. Nothing wanted to hit in the grass or along the grass in the three places like that I tried. I am convinced that is a morning or evening bite. I think they are either going in the grass or moving out deep once the sun comes up. I had to go deeper then I have been going. Got a few to start taking a big worm out deeper along drops. Managed 11 more bass with the biggest weighing 3/14. emoThumbsup Those two were my only two in the three pound category. Had a couple more solid twos to go along with those so my best five would have only been around the 15 to 15.5 mark. No pictures today, got the bass right back in the water since it was so freaking hot. emoMad
I was planning to stay longer but the heat was just about unbearable so after looking like I had been rained on from sweating I left only after a couple hours. It did make me feel good about the upcoming CBA Saturday. It is suppose to be raining that morning but that will cool it off some. They are calling for mid 80s for a high now. emoThumbsup Should be a good one and I bet there will be some that find a good sack. Hope to see a great crowd.
The water is still in the mid to upper 80s so bring ice, rejuvenator, check your batteries and make sure they are in great shape. Keep the water cool and flowing. You can also put a couple shots of hydrogen peroxide in the water too. Ten hours is a long time to keep bass alive in a live well so go prepared to do some CPR. (Catch, Pamper, Release) emoToast Jmax
