Boy oh boy, what a bunch of people. I decided since I was not on any kind of bite of big bass I was not going to fish the CBA today. emoRedface I kind of slept in a little and got on the water about 7ish. There was so many folks on the water there was no parking spots left to use. I had to park in the grass. emoEek Even thou there was a boat on every point and flat I had a pretty good day. Just got in line and fished. They were biting well today. I boated 29 bass in the boat and missed or lost at least a dozen more. I saw one young man catch one that looked every bit of 10 lbs. He was so excited. They took pictures and they released it. emoThumbsup I was not so lucky on big bites. Had one chunky four and a couple three pounders. Most of the bass I boated were in the two pound range. emoScratch Must have been on a two pounder pattern. emoBigsmile The pattern I was on was working new coming up grass lines in about 9 to 10 feet deep. The grass appeared on my depth finder to be about five feet tall. Then there was a gap of about four feet on top. A few came from traps fished in that gap but most came off the edge with a shakey. Lots of fun to say the least. Derek and Chase were fishing the CBA so I tried not to go anywhere Derek and I did well this time of year so they might go there and catch them. Not sure how they did.

I stopped fishing at 2:30 and headed in. Had to wait in line to pull out. Summer has for sure started. emoSun Best five today would have been around 17 lbs. Water temp was in the mid 70s still. Here is my chunky four and one of the threes. I bet there will be some heavy weights today at the CBA. emoWorthy Jmax

Only took 26 to win I think .

That is less then I expected. I saw a lot of people catching fish today. Jmax

27 and change for the win, 18 and change for a check. Paid 10 places I believe.

Really, 18 and some change got paid? I was not too far off. Figures now that points don't matter with me leaving I would of had some good ones. emoRolleyes Jmax

Yep! My buddy came in town from Nashville and we don't know enough about the lake to compete so we just fished for fun. Pulled up to a spot about 9 this morning and he caught a toad right at 8 pounds and I said man maybe we should've gotten into the CBA if you're gonna act like that. 20 minutes later, the trolling motor is dead. Seal is shot and water is pouring out of the cone. Our day was over before it began.

Ooch! emoDoh Sorry to hear that, your day was a bust for sure.

We still had a blast, en route to ETM trolling motor repair now to get it fixed and we will be back out there tomorrow!

Actually it took 25.92 lbs to win the CBA today. It was won by Brent Hayes and David Hix, CONGRATS!!! Those two have been on a few good ones, they also came in third on the memorial day three fish tournament with over 15 lbs with three. Not sure which one of them caught it but one of them had a Lunker just shy of 10 lbs for the big bass of the tournament as well. They did a sweep! emoWorthy Jmax

Saturday must have been one of those days when anyone could get bit because my daughter and I caught a lot if fish just messing around. We left about 10:30 or so when the wake boats started showing up. Lost count but it was close to 20 fish in about 4.5 hours. A few in the 4lb range. Mostly small. A couple felt big but pulled off before we saw them.

Well everyone didn't catch a lot of fish on Saturday emoBang Thanks for the heads up Jim about HBSP being full. The plan was I was going out to fish a while and pick the wife up for her first outing in the new to us Skeeter. With your heads up I put in at another ramp. I must have been holding my mouth wrong cause I managed just one fish (nice 3 lber) and not a whole lot of bites. To say the lake was crowded would be an understatement emoHoppingmad . The thing is if everyone would just be courteous and show some consideration for the other guy. I had people run up and cut me off, one boat was obviously some high school kids which I thought their guide was sure teaching them some bad stuff. Jim, you and I leapfrogged each other but it was with mutual OK, I think most of the time if people would just communicate there would be a lot less heartburn. When I met my wife at HBSP for a late lunch there was some kind of incident taking place at the boat ramp. Seems an older guy in a pontoon boat was putting in and had words with a 17 year old at the ramp, I heard the word assault used so I don't know if he laid hands on him for sure. I understand the older guy used every vile and foul word known. He was leaving the dock area when I tied up and I heard him being called back by the authorities. I don't know specifics and I don't know what the young guy did, but getting in the face of a kid in public and spewing vulgar language don't cut it with me so I hope they threw the book at him. Thanks for your report and I'm glad you found them. emoParty
