Jmax, Chick, Bass Action Alarms tournament,**1st out of the money** 7/5/14, Mr. Whiskers

It was a great morning as far as the weather and it being so cool of a morning. It felt more like a cool September morning instead of a July morning. We thought we had a pretty good plan and wanted to start along a deep grass drop. Bad decision, we stunk it up the first part of the morning. Moved deep and Michael got the stink out of the boat with a two pound spot slow rolling a big spinner bait deep. But that was it there too. We made a move to another deep grass drop edge and I finally had one there that was a little over three pounds. emoThumbsup However, Michael followed with one but it was short. That was it there and we were starting to think we were not going to even boat three keepers today. emoConfused Moved again and this time we headed for a deep ditch with rock and some structure. Since the only thing I could get them to bite was a trick worm on a Cutthroat shakey 3/16th head I just stuck to that bait. I got on a little roll there and boated a couple more nice bass with one going around 3.5 and another around 3.25. Culled Michael's little spot. I think we boated three more there with two shorts and one more keeper that did not help. Since that location had worked out we moved to another place similar and again I boated two more keepers but neither of those would help the cause. Michael switched over to a worm also and quickly boated another one that was short. Decided to make the run back to where the Spot had come from hoping the big bass would fire up. They appeared to be on the graphs but try as we did they would not bite. Mainly drowning cranks, blades, jigs and worms deep but nothing wanted to play.

At about 10:40 we headed in early to set up the scales and get ready to weigh the fish. We ended up with 10.33 lbs with those three three pounders which was only good enough for 5th place which was first out of the money. emoBawl Still had a good time, I think Mr. Whiskers missed me cause he gave me heck all morning. Nothing good to say about anything I did so you could tell he had missed giving me a hard time and was just making up for lose time. emoRolleyes Thanks for being my net man Michael and also thanks for the help with the weigh in. emoThumbsup Jmax
