Jmax, Chick, Bass, CFF June day, 2nd place, 6/4/16, Solo

Did not have a net man today. Was a little worried but with only having to weigh in three in our CFF tournaments that makes it a little easier for just one person. James could not make this one and had to back out. The lake was really crowded with the High school tournament and the CFF as well as a couple others. Had to take a number and get in line a couple times. Also found Derek with Chase sitting on a couple of the places I wanted to go. emoPoke I was still able to find a few willing to play. I struggled some today. Still can't find any kickers. I boated around 10 shorts and 5 keepers today. Culled a 2/3 and a 2/9. Weighed in a 4.43 lber, with a 3/3 and a 3/0. On the CFF scales they went 10.62 lbs. I really thought there would be no way that would get a check today but to my surprise it took 2nd! emoDance Just goes to show how tough it was for most folks today. 13 and some change won it.

I caught one on a spook, three on a crank and 11 on a shakey. I think we are spoiled. I remember when I would catch 15 bass and think I had a great day. Now I feel it was slow. emoBigsmile Goes to show how well the lake is normally fishing. Ledges and drops with structure and rock was the ticket for me today.

Got a text from Derek and he told me Chase and his partner took third in their High School tournament out of 86 boats! emoWorthy Congrats to those two young men. emoThumbsup

Had a great time, enjoyed it as always, thanks to those who worked to put it on so others like me can be lazy and just fish. emoTongue Jmax

WTG JIM, Tonya and I had the short fish syndrome too, we had 1 and didn't bother to weigh. Tonya was frustrated, with what looked to be 3 keepers jump off right at the boat, beyond my net.

Well, well, well --- I'm not able to go and you break out the good spots emoLaugh emoParty . Just kidding - congrats on a solo 2nd - not sure we would have done any better if I'd been along but your netting arm would have rested - what --- I just remembered - the last few I've actually helped out so you never know I may have lucked a biggun in emoParty . I understand about Derek and Chase following you around emoLaugh we can't seem to shake them so we just text them with words of encouragement emoEvil . Hate I missed this one and I'm looking forward to the next one, even if it is river park emoScratch .
