I told James I did not think we would have any issue getting a three fish CFF tournament limit. It got tough today for us. Missed a bunch, James broke a couple off on the hook set. I had one get off about ten feet from the boat that looked to be four and a half pounds. Best one I had all day. emoBang It was a struggle on size. We put 16 bass in the boat with only six being keepers. They were all two pounders and in the low twos for that matter. emoDoh Our best three were only 7.08 lbs. That weight put us in 11th place out of something like 24 boats. Shows just how tough it was.

The temp of the water had dropped some to 63 and there was a cold north wind most of the morning. I think that shut the fish off. Our fish came from about 1 foot to about 8 foot. All on plastics and mostly on a shakey. It was nice to see everyone. Congrats to Earl and Dink on the win, I believe they had 12.30 lbs. Then in second and third was 10 something and fourth place was 9 something. They paid four places. Big bass was something like 6.70 lbs.

C-ya out there. emoAngler Jmax

It was a tough day. I agree with you 100% about the water and weather conditions. A buddy of mine was fishing in the bass assassins tournament next to our tournament and there were similar results in that derby, other than one monster sack.

What a different day it turned out to be compared to what I thought we would get weather wise even a few days before the tournament. I don't know about you but it was cold and dreary and windy for almost the whole thing. The sun did try to come out a little right at the end but it was pretty cold. We boated 16 bass but really Jim boated a bunch --- James just couldn't get it going with only 2 fish and none of the keepers emoBang emoBang emoBang . Oh well we survived it and the great thing about fishing is that we can always get them next time -------- right emoLaugh emoParty emoLaugh . I did break off 3 fish early on and at first I thought I had bad line again but later figured out that I hadn't retied since I went and fished a lot of rock on the Wednesday before the event. emoHoppingmad emoHoppingmad emoHoppingmad What a dummy ---- What I found was that my line was actually nicked and frayed 10 or more feet up from the end where I had dragged it through a wide patch of rocks. So when I broke off I retied but only a foot or so up only to break off again and retie a foot or so up and so on emoEnforce . Morale of my story is --- check your line for nicks many feet from the end. Fluorocarbon just doesn't do well with even the slightest defect in the line. emoBang . I'm due to catch a personal best this year (anything over 8lbs.) and my story is that it is going to happen and soon emoThumbsup .
