Jmax, Chick, Bass, Tues dog fight,, 06/08/10, Colby, 1st out of the money second week in a row.
Me and Colby started this evening hump fishing but managed only two with a small keeper. After trying for about 45 minutes we thought we had better change. We ran the river for the next hour hitting points and bluffs in deep water. Fished anywhere from 15 feet to 40 feet. Managed our limit and culled twice but only ozes. Decided to hit some shallow flats as the sun was setting to look for another kicker. Had one close to four already, off a pig and jig. First flat produced a couple more and we culled up again a couple more ozes. Moved for the last time to another flat with 45 minutes to go and Colby got his biggest on a shakey. Culled up again a couple ozes. It was 10 after nine and I told Colby,"At least you did not loose a big one this time." He laughed and agreed. A couple cast later Colby sets the hook and the rod doubled. I asked if he was hung and he said,"NO! this is a fish" Got it coming to the boat and then it turned on him, took a run and the next thing the hook just comes out. I told him we just repeated last week and hoped he did not loose the money fish again. I think he did. We are snake bit, I should have never said anything, may have jinked us.
Still had a good time, I think we boated eleven keepers today and had a nice limit but just a little short of a check. There was 32 boats and we were in forth place. They paid three. Caught bass on worms, jigs, shakeys, and cranks today. From seven feet to 40 feet. Had a good time Colby, maybe we can get them this weekend at the CBA. Jmax emoThumbsup
