Got caught up on work about 2 o'clock and thought how nice a good mess of crappie would be for supper. Problem was I was out of crappie. 
Decided to run to the lake instead of the store to catch supper. emoBigsmile Grabbed my crappie rod, the boat and headed to the lake. I was thinking how lucky we are to be able to do what I was doing. Called Drumking heading over to see if he happened to be home and if he would like to fill the back seat, no answer. Headed for my first spot and blanked other then a couple bream. Moved to a deep dock and right off hooked up with a nice one. Reeling it in it came off. Made another cast and hung it up under the dock. Had to break it off and went to get another jig. CRAP! I had grabbed my rod but left all my crappie tackle sitting in my garage. emoDoh So much for catching me a mess for supper. I was not about to go back home and retrieve it so I decided to bass fish. Headed for one of the places me and Derek caught a couple nice bass in the CBA and started drowning a big worm along the grass. It was slow. Finally felt a tap and set the hook. One about 14 inches came in and I thought at least I caught one. Could not buy another bite on a worm. I saw one bust up close to the grass and started pitching my spook. Keeping the boat out in submerged grass about two to three foot deep I started spook'n. Sure nuff, had three blow up with two decent keepers coming to the boat. The other I missed and it did not hit again.
Next thing I know I look up and see my buddy Derek coming into the area and he was with Tyler. We both had the same idea. emoBigsmile I told him what I had done and he was nice enough to give me a couple jig heads and bodies so I could go back after my supper. emoThumbsup Headed back to one of my crappie docks and boated about a dozen. Kept me four nice'uns for the fry pan and headed home at 5:30. emoToast Crappie caught on four pound high viz line, a small crappie head and crappie assassins. Depth was about 13 to 15 feet with a 10 count.
Not a bad little outing for just a couple of hours. Got home, filleted out my dinner, my better half cut us up some slaw and a honey due melon. Fried up my crappie and pigged out. emoHungry We are spoiled.
