Hey gang, have not posted a report in a while. Decided to sneak out this morning and wet a line. The dog days of summer are for sure here. Our Arkansas hot, humid and sticky days are upon us. Tried to find a pattern but never really felt I did. Found some suspended bass over deep water and managed a couple out of them by dropping a trap on them and counting it down to 15 feet and then just pumping it back to the boat. The actual depth was anywhere from 45 to about 70 feet. emoDoh Also had a couple come up chasing and got a spook in on them. Caught three on the trap and two on a spook. Lost a couple others on both. That bite died around 10 oclock and I went drowning the ol' shakey. Had a couple hit that in bush piles, but only managed two of those in the boat. It was a slow day for me but putting seven in the boat was better then sitting at the house. emoBigsmile

Nothing big for Chick size but for this lake had one right at four and another just shy of four. All seven were nice fish. Could have rounded out a limit with two pounders. Miss the size of the bass in the Chick but it sure is nice to just throw a switch and go fishing.

sounds like a fun morning, it is nice just to hit a button and drop the boat in the water(i miss that).

has the thermocline formed there already?

I believe it has. Looks to be about 15 to 20 feet since that is where all the fish seem to be holding. emoScratch Jmax

kinda figured that since you said you were fishing over 40+ fow, can be some fun topwater calling them up when they get like that, can alos be very frustrating
