The weather here was great yesterday. A cold front came in and drove all the clouds away. Blue bird clear sky and cold temps in the 30s to start with. The good thing was the temp was suppose to shoot up to the 40s by 8. This time of year that weather is not bad, you just have to find where the bass are in the spawning process. Got on the water by about 7:15 and the water was like glass. DeGray is a Corp lake and here in Arkansas you are not allowed to build on those lakes so it is one beautiful lake. The bass have been moving up and we started on main lake points...notta, nothing, moved to secondary points and creek bed drops going back into spawning flats...notta, nothing, went to the backs of the pockets with buck brush and again...notta, nothing. Was starting to think they were just not biting but made another move and hit the mother load. Moved out from the bank in about 4 to 7 foot and found the bass. If you could find wood or rocks they seemed to be there.

It appeared those bass had migrated to the spawning flats but for whatever reason stopped short of actually setting up house and starting the process. Once we figured this out we hit two more major spawning pockets and repeated this pattern. They would not chase anything but the ol' faithful shakey was more then they could resist. Ended up boating 26 bass, broke one other off on the hook set and lost a couple more reeling them in. My friend, Harry, is 81, he is not all that fast but for his age he is a good angler. He caught 7 and I managed the other 19. Got to love figuring them out. emoThumbsup We never saw another bass caught by any other boat. Most were either fishing the banks or hanging off points. emoTongue Nothing all that big for us, best one was a chunky female you could tell had eggs that would have broken 3 lbs. Most were one and a half to two and a half pounders. emoRolleyes Still had a blast "Catching".

Should have taken a picture of that 3+ but at the time was hoping to get a 4. So no pictures today. :( Tight lines to all, keep the reports coming. Jmax
