We junked fished our way right into second place. emoThumbsup After going a couple times this past week the only thing consistent was the inconsistency. emoRolleyes I could not pattern the bass to save my life. It continued today. Started off poor for us loosing a couple quality bass. We just could not keep them hooked up. Finally had a nice 2/9 crush a spinner bait and were able to stink up the live well. emoThumbsup We did boat several shorts which as you can expect we had no trouble getting those in the boat. emoDoh Had a couple between 14 to 15 inches we just could not get to measure. About mid morning I got a tap on my shakey and set the hook, knew it was a good fish and told James to get the net. After getting wrapped on the trolling motor and then around the net on the first attempt to net it, to our amazement she stayed on and did not break the line. Really a nice one at 6/6. Told James if we could only catch another good one with that one there we might get a check. About noon I was flipping a Cutthroat jig around some barge ties and it just loaded up. Set the hook and in came the third one we weighed at 4/2. emoDance Knew we had over 13 lbs but also thought it would not be enough. Try as we did we never were able to get another good one into the boat that was bigger then 2/9.

Had to leave with the one 2 lber still in the well and it cost us the win. Still we were very happy to end up with what we did. Shakey, blade and jig on the three we weighed, three different baits. emoScratch Like I said, no pattern, no consistency and just junk fishing. emoSmile Congrats to Bob Anthony and Billy Cambell on their win.

Wind, Wind, Wind and Cold, Cold, Cold I'm not about to complain about our finish though emoAngel . With the start we had losing fish to end up in 2nd was a miracle. I got some net practice which is OK but I'm ready for some catching practice. Jmax is going to kick me out of the boat if I don't start helping emoBang emoBang . I lost what felt like a good fish in a brush pile early. It hit good and went straight down and wrapped me up emoHoppingmad. All in all a good day, way better than our first two events emoParty . Great to see everyone and thanks as always to our committee for all the work emoThumbsup .
