I got my annual call yesterday afternoon. He called like a giddy little kid at christmas to tell me he had shot a nice buck. Its a good 6 pointer. He said it chased a doe right to him, but I think it was running at him trying to get that lucky golden horseshoe Jim has had jammed in his butt. Lol

He is the king of CFF "spoiling" so I thought I would hit him back. He obviously doesnt have computer access, or this would be old news. I bet he is on this thread in no time and you will get a "hero shot" of Jim with his deer. Congrats buddy!

RE: Jmax shanked!!!

HA! emoUpsmile Thanks Churly, Yea, I have been spending some time in the woods here lately. My freezer was down to two packs of deer burger and that was it. emoRedface Time to restock. I have not seen a good one to shoot and let a couple small bucks walk. But this one was just asking to be shot. He had his mind totally on the lady he was after and had no idea I was anywhere around. Not a wall hanger but he had good mass, 16.5 inch spread, good size deer and will make me some really good steaks and burger to get my freezer starting to be stocked back up.

The doe was in the lead coming right at me. She busted me but did not know what I was. Slammed on the breaks and just looked at me. He was coming up behind her, about 20 to 30 yards back. I was afraid she would bolt and if she did I would miss my shot. I had to shoot him head on coming at me and shoot right past her. The ol' smoke pole did not let me down. She was about 40 yards out and he was about 60 yards. Dropped him in his tracks. Now I may be a little more selective.

When I first saw him I thought he was around 150 to 175 pounds. After dragging him a 100 yards I felt he was at least 175 to 200 lbs. When I finally drug him another 100 yards, got him loaded and in the truck I was sure he was at least 225 lbs. emoLaugh Jmaxx

Doesn't surprise me. All of Jmax's bass gain weight once they're in the boat as well. emoPoke
