Here's a pic of the grass that seemed to hold a good many of the fish that we caught on buzzers last night. It tends to grow in clumps and in shallow water. Many times we'd throw past a clump and could anticipate when the strike would come, just as the buzzer went past the clump. Now I'm almost sure that the grass is Pondweed or one of the Potamogeton species of weeds that inhabits the TN river. Most of the pics that I found on the web show the leaves and flowers on the surface. I saw now flowers and because the water is up about a foot from where it has been the plants right now are almost totally submurged. It will be interesting to see how thick it will get in some of the sloughs this summer. Here's a pic of some of the leaves:
