Had a great day on the lake Saturday. Got out to wolftever in the morning and could not find a place to park the trailer, so went down to Booker T. Washington and put in. The bite was all over the place. Started out shallow following a pattern from earlier in the week flipping trees. Caught two quickly, then could not buy another bite with this approach. Saw up shallow I was spooking out small groups of decent sized fish so backed off and threw a crankbait, boated a couple more, and the crankbait bite stopped. Threw a shaky head and caught a few more, and then it stopped! It seemed like I'd catch a couple fish, and the pattern would fizzle out! Long story short, I caught them on crankbaits, shaky head, wacky rig, T-rig craw, top water, fluke, and carolina rig. Caught them pitching cover, docks, and focusing on points with depth transitions. It was all over the board. In total I put 26 in the boat. Unfortunately no real size, the biggest was about 2.5lb. Probably could have added to the numbers but spent a lot of time idling with electronics trying to learn more. My Fiance and her friend joined me around 2PM, fishing went south from there. LOL They normally just lay out on the back deck, but have never fished and wanted to try, so spent most of the afternoon helping them out. Caught 24 before they got there and only 2 between their arrival and leaving. But they had a blast, and that's what matters!
