Took my first trip up to Nickajack to check the lake out yesterday afternoon- despite the 98 degree weather. Put in at Marion County Ramp and fished primarily from just above Hales Bar down to first creek above the dam. Ended up with four blow ups on the frog and one bite on a brush hog. Some good looking areas of grass, but also noticed some beginning to break up. Boated one nice one on a frog, which made the trip up worth it. My son couldn't believe how the fish destroyed that frog coming out of the grass. Heard alot about this lake being a good numbers lake, but looks like it could be a difficult one to fish. Just looking for a change of pace lake from Lanier & Carters. We were hoping for a smallmouth to go with the largemouth, but didn't have any real luck other than the two largemouth we boated. Have a pic from yesterday, but not sure how to resize for upload.

It has been pretty slow the past few weeks for a lot of us. I use to fish the Nick a good deal and had plenty of good outings on it. Mainly fished from the dam to the bridge and a lot of it was night fishing.
