Well, I fished my second BFL as a non-boater yesterday. We, like those of you that fished the CFF tournament were delayed by fog. We didn't get out there until about 930.

My boater fished bridges all day and one hump at the back of South Sauty creek. I caught one fish sitting next to South Sauty bridge sitting in about 20 FOW with bait under the boat. I caught her slow rolling a chatter bait with a swimbait trailer. The good news is she went 6 pounds 9 ounces and landed me in 18th place on a super tough day.

As usual, there were some folks on fish. The winning boater bag weighed in at 27 pounds. The winning non-boater bag went for 18 pounds. Big fish were 9 and 8. The guy that caught the 9 pounder caught it on his last cast before heading back to the weigh in.

Reports from those that were on more fish than us told me that fish were shallow and biting cranks, traps, jigs, and jerk baits.

Things I learned:

1) Fish your strengths.
2) Don't leave fish to find fish.

After this tough day is added to the last tough tournament we had, I am sitting in 10th in co-angler points and haven't put together a limit yet. emoLaugh

Have fun out there guys.
