JSV, Chick, Crappie for Canine TX, 4-14-13, Wife(Stephanie) & Daughter and son (Ashley &Dylan)
It was a great day to be on the water but being with the family made it even better and getting to fish a Tx as a family was awesome! First one since the old Crackfest days!

First I want to thank CANDI and the others that helped make this a great success! You done GREAT CANDI!! I would also like to say 'Congrats to Chris Coleman, Steve Kite and the man who put them on the fish and I know caught the majority of the fish "WYAT Coleman"! Not only did they support, write about and then win today but they donated the $200 winnings! Class act and it proves it isn't always about the pay check but the fun and challenge and now the pressure of defending the title! Both have many CBA and other notorious victories in the fishing ring but today together with the help of their guide Wyat, they just notched another one!

Now for the fish tale>>>>>>>>>> Needless to say it was a chore to get 2 young-uns and a wife up, dressed and ready for an early morning cool adventure on the water. Especially when they are accustomed to coming out when it is both convenient and warm and at their desecration. WE made it, launched and met some great people at sign ups! Made me really think about how the forum started out and the fun times from years gone by. I really didnt have a game plan. I knew where we could catch fish but with 4 and it being cold, I decided to keep it simple and not worry about and make sure everyone caught fish and had fun. Our first stop was in a transition area where Tndoe and I had put out some brush and buckets a couple years ago. Fish were stacked or so tight to cover and before I knew it, my wife had caught 4 and I hadnt even got a cast in and 3 were small keepers! Needless to say this story continues and but the good thing was now the kids are either catching or reeling in fish yet Momma spanked our butt! We ended up fishing mainly brush or structure in 10 to 15 fow and caught fish after fish. We used nothing but BG plastics with wife using a 1/16, me a 1/32 and the kids both plus a few MINNORS! WE probably could have weighed in more weight if we had been serious but today was about fun, family and fishing! I did make a quick stop on a good deep transition place yet the current was swift and the very small area we needed to hit was very difficult so after my wife caught our biggest fish, I decided to get the heck out of there! I do have pride and if she continued to out fish me and the kids, Id never live it down!

I think we had 4 something at weigh ins. I wasnt even going to weigh them but after realizing my little man and daughter wanted to enjoy the process of a TX nad weigh-ins, we done the deal!

Today was a great fun day and I would like to thank Candi and all the good people that made this a great success! It was a pleasure to see and be around such well trained dogs and the money went to a great cause!!

PS...... You will have to ask my wife and kids to find out what count they were catching the fish on, they wont tell me! But from my observation while retying jigs and hooks, it appeared to be about a 10 or in most our locations! (The best count was when it was out of the brush or buckets

Thanks again!

Fun times! Nothing like spending time on the water with family and even more important..... EVERYONE IN THE BOAT HAVING A GOOD TIME!
