Blue Ridge Bassmasters had the last regular tourney on Loudon- Tellico yesterday.....bluebird skies....post cold front..whitecaps a lot of places by 8:00 ...north wind....spells a tough day...
14 boats and about half or so weighed fish
Michael Patterson...club Prez and TBF Regional Director...won with 4 fish/ 7.8 lbs fishing a Shaky Head around docks on Tellico...also had big fish of a whopping 2.28
Myself and partner Dave Pittman came in second with 4 LM/5.87 Dave caught his 3 on spinnerbait and my one came on t-rig lizard....stirred mud all morning pitching around really shallow brush near Concord on Loudon
3rd place Sam Duncan had 4/LM at 5.2....not sure how or where!
nice day to be out on the water and fish actually bit better than I thought they would.

Snuffy, thanks for the report/info. How did you get on fish so shallow after the front? They must have been glued to that cover.

they were definitly glued to mostly the end of loose pieces of brush that had got stuck on the edge of the bank...and some laydowns....caught one off a dock that might have been 3'....
there were tons of the small threadfin ? in the area but never saw a bass bustin` `em
kinda strange that they hit that good where we were at....some only had 1-2 bites all day.....i think the wind was kind of eddying around the point we were behind and gave the water just enough of a ripple to break up the light and the water was not muddy but close to it.

Similar thing happened to my dad last week on Loudon too. One day he went up around the Louisville area and got two bites in the half day, the next day he went down to Sinking Creek and got 10 fish. Go figure.

THANKS JON....I`M SLOWLY CREEPING UP ON #6 IN POINTS...MADE UP 3LBS ON HIM IN LAST 2 TXS....NEED 1.5 LBS ON HIM IN CLASSIC TO MAKE STATE FOR NEXT YEAR.....IF I COULD CATCH THE FISH I KEEP GUIDING MY PARTNER TO I`D BE OK....MAYBE I`LL GET IN THE BACK OF THE BOAT AND LET HIM FIGHT THE TROLLING MOTOR IN THE WIND FOR A WHILE....WELL MAYBE NOT ...HE ZEROED ON THE CHIC SO IT DON`T MATTER I GUESS.
JDUB , I HAD SOME BUDDIES FISHED THE MINORS MARINE LAST WEEKEND ON LOU-TELL AND THEY ZEROED ALONG WITH ABOUT 40 MORE BOATS IN THE SAME CONDITIONS WE HAD THIS WEEKEND...SO IT`S TOUGH....LIKE YOU SAID CAN`T EVER TELL WHAT DAY IS GONNA BE GOOD.

Good job, Snuff (and Dave!). Loudon/Tellico have been BAD tough the last week or so. FYI, it wasn't any better today on Tellico either!! Have a good one.

Get them fish in the boat Snuffy!!! Got to meet Michael Patterson at the state tourny this year. He fished with my regular partner. He said he learned alot from Michael. He was really tore up about how good he was at fishing the docks. he wants to learn to skip a worm like that. emoLaugh

thanks 2k...Michael is one of the finest people I`ve ever had the pleasure to get to know. He is always the voice of reason and careful thought in our sometimes rancorous club meetings.... and has grown into a top fisherman over the years..
