It seems that in years past that big bunches of bass will push bait up against the dam in the bays of the floodgates. Usually I'm pulled up in the eddie outside of the wing wall fishing for the stripe/whites and I hear and see good fish slurping shad in the bays. The sound seems loud because of the dam being right there. If the comotion continues I finally can't stand it and troll over and by the time I get to the spot they are gone. I think the fish are pretty spooky most of the time but if you can find them when they are really on the feed and they surface close to the boat they hit most anything.
